Qualifications: This position is limited to "Protected Individuals " as defined in the US federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, US citizens, US nationals, US permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, and US permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so. The submitted candidate must be able to obtain National Security Clearance if required. Top 5-10 technical skills required for the job: * Virtual Desktop design and implementation Ability to design and implement Virtual Desktop solutions based on user requirements and use cases, including selecting the best platform and suite of add-on products. * Designing and implementing systems in enterprise Ability to understand, design and implement the needs of the enterprise. * For example, high availability and failover, including site failover are vital to this project. * Virtual Desktop Performance tuning Familiarity with gathering infrastructure requirements, optimizing windows images and tuning PCoIP or ICA. * Application and image Delivery mechanisms Familiarity application and OS delivery mechanisms and application installation practices in VDI environments. * Security Understanding security systems and mechanisms as well as incorporating then with a balance of user needs. * VMware View 6.X or XenDesktop 7.X Knowledge of VMware View / XenDesktop components, configuration, performance tuning and troubleshooting. * Experience with implementing linked-clones or provisioning server, non-persistent desktops, creating / optimizing / deploying templates / images. * Technical documentation authoring of technical manuals, procedure and design documents Server Systems design Familiarity with server components and operating systems in data center and hosted configurations. * Knowledge of storage, network, and virtualization; and the ability to integrate these in an application design. * Networking technology Knowledge of the components and functioning of a modern network integrating data, voice and video. * Understanding of how network design affects the application. * Storage Understanding of data center storage technologies including SAN and Cloud Storage, and how to incorporate into system designs. * Required Skills: * Experience leading projects in a large, highly complex environment * Excellent communications and technical writing skills * Ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences * Skill in design of technical solutions to business problems * Experience with Windows server operating systems * Knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems * Experience with VDI software and hardware from multiple vendors Familiarity with application middleware components (database, web application servers, etc.) Familiarity with enterprise networking components (switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) Ability to pass Level 2 (Restricted) clearance Responsibilities: * Join a VDI project to determine the goals and requirements of a critical business area, design a solution, prove its effectiveness by working directly with the IT and business and implement it. * This is a design and implementation project, and therefore hands on implementation and documentation experience is required. * Tasks may include, but not be limited to: Review current state and configuration of infrastructure as well as documentation * Review current VDI initiatives and the district and system level Drive out and review the business requirements Measure resources requirements * Design high level solution and detailed solution Defend the solution at oversight meetings * Implement and oversee a POT and/or a POC Detailed design based on POT / POC results * Lead implementation initiatives Provide detailed documentation at all levels of the project.
